Inspired by an instance of plagiarism involving use of Google Translate, this paper is an error analysis of two Arabie texts by Azmi Bishara and one by Muhammad hasanayn HaykaI, Google Translated to English.

The purpose of this analysis is to identify characteristics of an Arabie text Google Translated to English.

This analysis of three Google Translated texts revealed recognizable characteristics of Arabie text Google Translated to English.

The most obvious errors were actually what typical mistakes were NOT présent : absence of spelling, capitalization, conditional, and modal errors.

Another notable enor, distinct to Google Translated text, was translitération spellings of words usually translated, and sophisticated vocabulary with low level sentence structure.

More typical Arabie L1 influenced errors included minimal use of commas and full stops, and missing words.
