Abstract EN

The main aim of this article is to provide an analysis of the study carried out about the translater training in Europe as part of the EU funded project OPTIMALE ^.

The OPTIMALE project aims to enhance the visibility and relevance of professional translater éducation and training in Europe.

This is defined as providing Master’s degree level programmes that equip graduates with a thorough knowledge of the translation industry, professions and processes, and with a range of compétences that are relevant to professional requirements in this area.

In order to get this, the fist steps given were: L To establish a detailed and an up-to-date map of existing university translator training programmes throughout Europe; 2.

To make the collected data available thanks to downloadable factsheets drafted in the home language of the institution, in English, and in one other language in most cases.

What follows is a report of this study^ and a reflexion about the ways OPTIMALE has enhanced or has laid a fertile ground for enhancing translation quality assurance.
