Abstract EN

The aim of this study was to identify the reality of the school parliament and its role in democratic education in private secondary schools in the university District.

The qualitative and analytical descriptive method was used, relying on interview and questionnaire to collect data.

The sample was selected randomly, and consist of (24) teachers and (341) male and female students, The results of teacher interviews showed that the reality of the school parliament is good, it prepares students for parliamentary life and democratic life, and strengthens some aspects of the personality of students, and that there is no role for the family in promoting participation in the student parliament.

The results of the questionnaire revealed that the level Democratic education was middle, and there were no statistically significant differences in the democratic education of students due to gender.
